Roddy is the 15-year-old main character of Blaster Master: Blasting Again for Playstation, in which he goes underground and finds portals to other planets in an effort to keep the monsters of those other planets out of Earth.

All of these monsters have been trying to invading the Earth ever since the first Blaster Master for NES. Jason died fighting to stop the invasion, and his son, Roddy, took up the task after his father died.

Roddy calls the tank that he pilots the "Sophia J-7" as opposed to "Sophia the 3rd NORA MA-01" because of how many changes have been made to it over the years.
