Chapter 7

Toad Town | Shiver City | Starborn Valley | Crystal Cave

Toad Town
Go into Toad Town sewers. Super Boot the weak spot if you haven't already, and dive in. Go all the way west until you find the Ultra Boots, then head all the way east until you reach a room with an uncrossable gap. Use Watt and your Ultra Boot ability to hit invisible blocks that should form a bridge for you to jump. Before leaving, go down the pipe near the east door. In the next room, blast the east wall with Bombette. You'll find Rip Cheato, but never mind him; go in the other pipe. Mario will arive in a house. Snatch the key hiding behind a crate and unlock the door. Go outside, remember where you are in Toad Town, and hop back to the block bridge room. Now you have an easy way to reach Shiver City from Toad Town.
Enter the big doors, and there is the way to Shiver City--all the way to the west of the scene. Before you leave, though, go all the way east and use the Super Block to Ultra Rank Goombario or Kooper.

Shiver City
All the way west(you'll have to travel a few scenes) there'll be the Mayor's house. When you enter the room with the Mayor, you'll find that--GASP!--he's dead! You need to find the murderer to clear your own case. Ultra Boot the ice rink and dive in using Sushie. Get the storeroom key and enter the locked house. Stroll up to the top, and slide down the roof. Then, hop in the chimney of the house you land on. The man you're looking for will be there. Talk to him, and he'll clear the whole thing up. After that, go west, out of town(make sure your partner is Parakarry).
Jr. Koopa will arise. Dispense of him with Jumps, Mega Jumps, and Sky Dives.
Move on with Kooper and his Flame Shell, and Star Born Valley will be within sight.

Starborn Valley
Before entering, a Monstar will appear. It can't do more than one damage, so just use normal attacks. It's actually a bunch of star kids defending their home from intruders! Merle will give you a Scarf. Now head back to Shiver City to recieve a bucket from the Mayor. Go back to the place with all the snowmen, and place the bucket on the hatless one and the scarf on the scarfless one. They'll unlock the way to Crystal Cave.

Crystal Cave
In here, make sure you level yourself up to 40 HP, 40 FP, and 18 BP. Have the Mega Jump badge, Power Plus badge, and Zap Tap badge on. Put Kooper(once again, his Flame/Power Shell) by your side. When you reach the outside, skate across the ice. Bombette can blow the crack, and in the next room will be an invisible wall to the west. Take the star, and plant it in the star-shaped hole atop the steps. Now hop up to the top, and enter Crystal Cave's puzzle.

First off, change to Goombario. On the red floor, go into the south door. You won't need to do much to find the Blue Key. Ultra Boot the Red Switch to take you upstairs.

Then, take Bombette into the blue locked door. When you blow up a wall, you'll need to decipher which is real. Just like before, the first one to talk will be the real one. In the next room, you'll see that part of the "mirror" isn't as fuzzy and bright as the rest. That's a hole that will lead you into the almost-mirrored side.

Now return to the main room, just on the opposite side. Go into the north room. You'll find a weak boarded up spot in the floor. Through it and east one room a P-Down D-Up badge will be in a chest. Back up through the hole, you'll find a door. Walk through it one room and there will be a Shooting Star. Grab it if you only have one or none. Return back out into the main room and head back to the south side.

Ultra Boot the weak spot in the blue floor's south door, then soon the Red Key will be found in a chest. Return to the red floor and unlock the door. Another hole into the "mirror" will be there. Don't go in it just yet; you need to destroy three guards, making the three statues go away. Return and go the "mirror" path. A hole will be in the next room. Make like the reflection and kick Kooper in it. He'll come back, blowing the wall with all of the obvious fakes that follow. You know what to do. After you've exercised your hammer, move on. An arch will take you north, and go back to the other room. Enter the north door and push the Albino Dino statue west. In the uncovered passage, a P-Up D-Down badge will arise. Travel into the south side, and walk into the south door. You'll find that a huge Albino Dino statue has been moved as a result of moving the smaller one. Hop in the hole and grab the Palace Key.

Back into the room with the arch, you can move on. Just unlock the door. Talk to the Albino Dinos--they'll face you. Then, you can move the statues the way that they are facing. Push the statues onto the bright panels on the floor.

You're in for another boss battle. Use the Heart and Save Blocks, then run outside with Parakarry. The ice king will come to fend you off, but you can beat him. Use Jumps and Sky Dives when he's alone, and Jumps and Air Raids when he has clones or those flying stones. Don't be afraid to use all of your FP refillers, and definetly use Shooting Star when his clones arise.
