Toad Town
Go north to the star path. Stop by
Merlee's to pick up any worthy badges from upstairs.
Star Way
The venerated star spirits will take
you up to a road leading to Star Haven. Put on the Fire Defense and Ice Power
badges if you're scared of the three fireballs.
Star Haven
Stop by and get any items you think
you'll need; six Super 'Shrooms and four Maple Syrups will do. Head off to the
east to get the Star Beam and a transport to Bowser's Castle.
Bowser's/Mushroom Castle
This is pretty
straightforward. It's just a matter of survival.
When you cross the bridge
over the lava, go first into the eastmost door. You'll find a troop that holds
the key--it'll take two seconds to clear him out with Kooper by your side. By
the way, have Kooper with you the whole time.
Now use Lakilester to cross the
lava. Go into every door and you'll find treasures that you'll want to return to
when you stop the lava. When you finally find a room with a reachable ledge(it
should have a lavafall in it), climb the stairs in it. Three troops and a blue
magikoopa will commence attack. Use Star Shower and Flame Shell(which will help
you in tight spots later on GREATLY) in the battle. They should give in, and you
can hit the switch. Dash across the lava into the places you couldn't do much in
before, and you'll find a key. Use the key to unlock the door at the very end.
In the locked room, a Boser-shaped door will send you into a dungeon. Use the
Heart Block, and then blast open the crack in the wall. Save. You'll move on to
an area where Watt will come to much assistance. Whatever you do, try not to
hammer(or any other charge attack)(except for quakes) Bony Beetles that don't
have spikes on top, but do try to do that to Bony Beetles with that defense. It
will make their spikes protrude or go in.
Once you find your way back to the
room with the Bowser door, you'll pass through. For the rest of the castle,
remember: Bombette or Kooper can knock switches, but Bombette is the only one
that can drop from a higher level. Use your items sparingly and appropriately,
and when you know you'll level up in that battle, don't use an item(unless you
happen to be a few HP away from fainting). Flaming Shell costs Dry Boneses 16
damage when fully charged. Lastly, one can push those blocks with Bowser's
face.
When you reach the long hall of torches, keep their order in mind.
They'll tell you which steps to climb: in the first room, up, second, down,
third, down, etc. The pattern is: up, down, down, up, down, up. Soon you'll find
yourself ditching Super 'Shrooms and Maple Syrups for Ultra 'Shrooms and Jammin'
Jellies. You'll reach your destination: Bowser Door #3. The [Super Ultra Mighty]
Koopa Bros. [the Great] will crash in on call of the door. Jr. Koopa will wisk
them away. Change to Parakarry and use Shell Shot when Jr. Koopa's in the air.
Soon you'll shoot him down and his wand will come into play. Use Super 'Shrooms
as needed.
Finally, you'll be granted access to Mushroom Castle. Check out
all the rooms for secrets, and stay a night at the Toad House. Defeat the first
Bowser with Goombario using Mega Hammers and Multibonks. Head back down on earth
to mix all your Ultra 'Shrooms and Jammin' Jellies/Super 'Shrooms and Maple
Syrups into double-purpose items. Go back up into Mushroom Castle(making sure
you have at least 50 HP and 50 FP) and get ready to battle!
Defeat
the final Bowser
