Mario Tennis for GBC Guide
Junior Team

Before you start playing at all, I'll need to tell you that when you raise levels, aim for one category and heighten that power until you have all the way. You'll want to give yourself all speed and then some control, and your partner all control and some speed. Recomended Shot: Drop
You can aim a drop shot much better than you can a slice right now. Try using an aimed drop shot when you're going to make an overhead hit!

First, to raise your characters a few levels, play an exhibition match.
Then, play one-on-one with your partner(or, if you have someone you can play a match with, use both characters on the same team in a doubles match).
You'll have learned your niche for playing. Don't forget--early on, you'll depend on lobs and drop shots.

Enter your Game Boy game and heighten your speed all the way and your partner's control all the way.

Do the first ball machine level until you return all fifteen balls(you can find the building left of the varsity court).

Doubles

Travel to the Junior Court and go all the way northeast. There will be two people above the last court. Talk to them and take them on in a practice match.

Joy and Allie

Joy: Technique
Beth's slow, so your partner's control should come in handy. Try pulling off a nice serve aimed in, yourself positioned all the way out, for a service ace.

Allie: Speed
Allie has a good reaction time, so trying a smash hit in her face won't work. Just keep aiming drop shots out of her reach.

When the match is over, head to the ball machine room again and clear level two. Head back to the dorm and save, then play some exhibition matches against Luigi, Baby Mario, and DK to build up experience and strategies.

Brian and ?
Brian's partner doesn't appear in exhibition mode.

Brian: ?
Just try for service aces like you did before, but don't forget lobs for service returns.

?: ?
Both partners are slow, so you just need to use lob shots.

Beth and Pam

Pam: All-Alround
Pam is Beth's only weakness. The only strength that Pam has is her lobs. If you hit a nice shot while in the farthest corner and aiming to the other far corner, you should achieve a service ace when she returns it. If not, your partner will probably return the service return with a point addition for your team.

Beth: Speed
Beth's speed makes her quite well at rallying when she's in the back, but try to hit Pam with the ball use a drop shot to end the it. Like most players, as you'll learn later on, she'll take over if you take too long to get a point. Her control is good, too--think quick and take advantage of your speed.

Levels:
You: 10
Spin: 0
Control: 1
Power: 0
Speed: 6

Partner: 9
Spin: 0
Control: 6
Power: 2
Speed: 0

Bob and Curt

Bob: Power
Bob's power will leave you on guard. Try to stay on the opposite side as your partner, and you'll do fine--and when the ball comes your way, do a drop shot.

Curt: Technique
As a technique, Bob's partner only adds to the team's clumsiness. You can easily hit him in the face. He is also easier to get the ball by, being gaunt. Bob will back him up easily, so always drop and never lob.

Singles Differences

(3rd) Curt: Technique
Now Curt will rally you into frustration. He has no plusses like before, so just keep using drop shots. (2nd) Beth: Speed
Beth can rally fantastically as well, but she will aim the ball to where you can't reach it. You're super-fast by now, though, so you can grab it. To avoid this in the first place, get her close to the net with weak lobs, and then shoot right past her when you can. You've Done It!
Use your doubles experience against these players in your singles matches with them. Now onto senior!
