Welcome to Wario World, Wario’s debut adventure for the GameCube!
Visuals: (86%)
Each level looks pretty good. Wario’s character model is the same one from Mario Party 4, except his sleeves are rolled up. The enemies are rather simplistic looking, but the bosses look cool for the most part.
Sounds: (85%)
The music in each level sound pretty good. Wario taunts his enemies a lot as well, as seen in games like Mario Kart 64 and the Mario Parties. He may, however get slightly annoying after hearing him a lot.
Gameplay: (90%)
In Wario World, Wario beats up his enemies using various attacks. You can even attack enemies using another enemy. There are various treasure scattered across each level. Certain treasures do certain things, such as extending your health meter or unlocking mini-games from Wario Ware: Mega Microgame$. However, all of these are not required for beating the game, so you could bypass them if you want. At the end of each world, you’ll fight a boss. The bosses in WW can get difficult.
Replayability: (62%)
Wario World’s biggest flaw is its length: the game is extremely short. There are only a few worlds, and those who get accustomed to the game quickly may even beat the game in a day.
Personal Score: (77%)
Bottom Line:
Wario World is fun, but extremely short. Try renting it.
Final Score: (80%) B-
