![]() ![]() Year Released: 1982(Arcade), 1986(NES). Also made an appearance in Donkey Kong Classics(1988, NES) Animal Crossing (2002, Gamecube), and as Donkey Kong Jr.-e (2002, GBA e-Reader). Number of Players: 1 or 2 alternating That mean old Mario has captured Donkey Kong and put him in a cage! DK's son, Donkey Kong Jr., must climb vines to rescue his father from the clutches of Mario. But it won't be easy. Mario is throwing creatures that chomp the vines, and DK Jr. if he's too close! Graphics: They may not look like much today, but the graphics are very good for the early '80's, and the graphics seem to have improved from the original Donkey Kong. The animation hasn't changed much, however. Play Control: Don't worry-like Donkey Kong, this game is easy to control. There won't be any frustration trying to control DK Jr. Sound: Again, the sounds do get annoying, and the music is nothing spectacular by today's standards, but (here we go again) this is a 1980's game, remember? Challenge: This game is probably a little easier than the original, but it still provides a great challenge. However, you don't get much a reward for your efforts, except seeing Mario fall to his death... The Bottom Line: Need a nostalgic or challenging game? Look no further. Want a great ending, excellent sound, or gorgeous graphics? Get out of here! Fun Facts From what I know, Mario was still a carpenter, not a plumber, in this game. The arcade game had a glitch in it that allowed Player 1 to rack up an insane amount of points! Related Links
