Game Boy Camera Review

Genre: Not really fitting into any genre, but it has a few simple action games (Space Fever II, Ball, Run Run Run) included.

Year Released:1998 (Game Boy/Pocket).

Number of Players:1

Mario Cameo Appearance: Mario appears in quite a few places, including the title screen, a border, a stamp set, and some of the hidden pictures you can unlock.

Funtography with the world's smallest camera! Use stamps, paint, and other effects to make your brother/sister look like Mario, or make animations, play games, and more!

Graphics: A lotta weird choices for graphics in this game, I've gotta admit. Error messages are scary-looking, and upon exiting the "Ball" game, I was faced by a picture of some bald guy with a cheesy-looking smile. Going to "Credits" before they're "unlocked" gives you some dancing guy. The stamps and paint are fun to use on pictures you take, though, and you can print stickers if you have the Game Boy Printer.

Play Control: Incredibly easy. Since the game is mostly different menus, there are no problems. The simple games included are very easy to control, as well. Some things are still a little confusing, though (I still can't make an animation, would you believe it?).

Sound: Lots of different music samples and sound effects fill the different menus.

Challenge: Where's the challenge? Well, you can unlock different pictures and features by beating or getting certain scores in the three different games. It even rewards you with them for deleting, printing, or transferring certain numbers of pictures!

The Bottom Line: Not so much a game as a fun little thing to fool around with, but Game Boy Camera will bring you tons of fun. Plus, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than a normal camera. Yes!
