Mario Party 4 Review

Genre: Board Game

Year Released: 2002 (Gamecube).

Number of Players:1-4 simultaneously

Mario's throwing another party on Gamecube! Will you lead your character to fame and become the Party Star?

Graphics: The capabilities of Gamecube are once again shown well in this game. The boards and minigames are full of great animation and excitement with no hint of slowdown.

Play Control: The play control really is a mixed bag. Some games have simple, easy-to-use controls, others can be frustrating. The majority of the game sports good control, though.

Sound: The characters have new voice samples and the games are full of sound effects and great music.

Challenge: The game mostly has a "more of the same" feeling, as not a lot besides the graphics and sound have changed since Mario Party 3. The boards are filled with new features, though, such as places with games you can only enter when you're under the effects of a certain item. Pretty much the same challenge, as well, unless you're playing with other people. The game is an absolute blast when 4 people plug in their controllers for a good ol' round of Mario Party.

The Bottom Line: Fans of the previous games in the series will definitely want to try it, but if you hated them, this game probably won't change your mind. Like the title suggests, it's still probably the best "party" game out there.
