Super Mario Bros All-Stars Review

Genre: Action

Year Released: 1993(SNES). Re-released in 1998 as Player's Choice Million Seller. Also made an appearance in Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World(1993, SNES)

It's all the classic Mario games from the NES you know and love, plus the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2, the Lost Levels, with updated graphics, sound, and gameplay! A wonderful game to own!

Graphics: The updated graphics look superb, and the animation is also improved.

Play Control: All the play control from the original versions is there, though the game controls are changed a bit because the SNES controller has more buttons. Even so, you can customize the controls to your liking.

Sound: Most of the sound effects are taken out of Super Mario World, and updates of the original tunes keep the game fresh.

Challenge: All the games have the same challenge, and The Lost Levels will challenge even the most experienced Mario fan with its difficult levels.

The Bottom Line: This is an excellent game to own for your SNES, and it's one of my favorite SNES games. The addition of a battery backed memory also means that you can save your progress instead of playing all the way through non-stop to beat the game.

Fun Facts

This was called "Super Mario Collection" in Japan.

The crowd sound at the title screen is different in the Japanese version.
