![]() ![]() Genre: Action Year Released: 1989(Game Boy) Number of Players: 1 The evil space alien Tatanga has captured Princess Daisy, ruler of the kingdom of Sarassaland. Mario must make his way through four worlds of three stages each to defeat Tatanga and his minions and to bring peace to Sarassaland once again! Graphics: For Game Boy standards, the graphics aren't that spectacular. Mario and the enemies are small and sometimes they get a little hard to see against the backgrounds. This especially becomes evident with the old original Game Boy. Play Control: Can you guess what I'm going to say? That's right. Easy to control. This game lives up to the play control standard of Mario games that came before it. Sound: There isn't any of the original Mario music in this game, but the tunes still sound nice and the sounds are just like you'd expect in a 2D Mario game. Challenge: For the average player, the challenge might be just right, but experts will probably like a harder game with more levels. I know I do. Kind of a boring ending as well, but I won't give it away. The Bottom Line: If you want a Mario game on the go, this is a solid choice, but it's outclassed by other Mario platformers like 6 Golden Coins and SMB DX. Fun Facts: This is Mario's first Game Boy adventure. This is also the first and only game in which you have to rescue Daisy, and where Tatanga is the villain.
