Review of 3-D Battles of World Runner by Grandtheftcow

As I sit in my school cafeteria, stuck with yet another first period spare (making this the fourth semester in a row), I ponder upon the game 3-D Battles of World Runner. World Runner is certainly an interesting game, trying to create a game that looks 3-D on an 8-bit system probably won’t work, and it didn’t work for this game. To try and make this game look 3-D, the developers put the fixed camera view behind the running man giving the illusion that enemies are flying at you. Another neat feature is the use of 3-D glasses. Just put on the glasses, press the select button, and now you have a game that feels like an interactive 50s drive-in movie, and the enemies look like they were created using a 50s movie budget--they vary from green spheres with eyes to pink pillars and flames that shoot up out of nowhere. By far the most annoying part of this game is that I can’t kill anything except the dragon at the end of each level; all you can do until you reach the dragon is dodge enemies and jump the bottomless pits spread across this unusual flat checkered world.

Pros:
+ An attempt at a 3-D game
+ Can play with 3-D glasses
Cons:
- No one has 3-D glasses anymore
- I can't kill anything
- Pathetic looking enemies

Overall score: 7/10
