Donkey Kong Country 3 Review

Year Released: 1996 (Super Nintendo)

Number of Players: 1-2 (cooperative or competitive)

Donkey Kong and Diddy are off exploring, supposedly. Dixie sets off to find them, worrying.

Graphics: WOW! Just as great as the other Donkey Kong Countries. Everything is great, the sprites work together wonderfully... WOW!

Play Control: No problems here. Some stages play on game control, for example, the snow ones are slippery. But it's all good. Even the throwing ball segments (you are a Kong throwing at things in the distance, sometimes at different distances) work great.

Sound: The music is fitting, but not perfect. This is one of those games you should have OC Remix blasting in the background for.

Challenge: Befitting. Old and new Donkey Kong Country fans will find DKC3 easy to play. Masters will have bonus stages to find and conquer. The DKCs are among those in my library of games which I never quite complete all the way (I believe that's a 103% [really!]).

The Bottom Line: You can have all the Chrono Triggers and Yoshi's Islands you want, but without at least one DKC, your SNES is WORTHLESS! Herm. I mean, Donkey Kong Country 3, as well as the other Donkey Kong Countries, are all great. Definitely pick this one up.
