![]() ![]() (Note: This review does not include the SEGA Saturn Game Genie.) Connection: It goes in where you put a cartridge in, then you put the cartridge in the Genie. You might want to put the game in the Genie before you put the Genie in. The NES version has a handle so that you can pull it out. Also, having a good Genie with games that are hard to get working right might make the games easier to play, codes or not. Look: SNES and Game Gear have gray and the NES and Genesis have gold and black. I've never seen a Game Boy one. Pros: It's fun to mess around, and codes are readily available at Game Genie.com. Not to mention they are almost essential to beat impossible games like Milon's Secret Castle (which is still hard with the cheats). Also cheap, they run for about $10 at Funco Land (every version). Unless you own Turbografx or some other system everybody forgot, there's one for your old school system. NES, SNES, Game Boy, Genesis, and even Game Gear! Yippee! Cons: Cheating can ruin the surprises of a game, but does that really matter? The old school games that these Genies work on are unveiled to you, but it's discovery all the same.
Bottom Line: The SNES, Genesis, and Game Gear ones have off switches in case you get stuck. Game Gear ones are not be available in Funco Land because Funco Land doesn't support Game Gear. That's what EB Game World is for. Long live the Funco Land knock-off! The Bottom Line has no purpose today.
