Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time Review

Year Released: 1993 (SNES)

Number of Players: 1-2 Simultaneously

Shredder has kidnapped newswoman April O'neil, so the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles decide to go into action. Raised by a martial artist rat, these guys can kick shell.

Graphics: Everything is shaded! Great after playing TMNT II and III. Nothing bad, everything is great.

Play Control: Great. Moving is a bit slow, but the turtles to not lag in action, plus there is a way to dash. No real beef, except that special attacks (jump + hit) are a little too easy to do, and sometimes performed by accident. This is not good, considering that special attacks deplete your health.

Sound: The sound is perfect for the stage, and like the graphics, refreshing.

Challenge: There are different difficulty modes so you can set it to your ability. As you get better, each setting is appropriately hard. It's not too easy, not too hard.

Game Play: Every turtle's weapon yields different attacks and different special attacks (which now have their own button). The gauntlet play style is back, too, but it never seems to get old...!

The Bottom Line: Great fun, a through-the-roof conclusion to the turtles series.
