![]() ![]() Year Released: 1995 (Sega Genesis) Number of Players: 1 By the year 2049, the inhabitants of Earth have turned the once-beautiful planet into a dump. The humans blast off into space and let robots clean up their mess. After some time, though, one of the robots goes mad. It seized control of all the other robots on Earth and has prepared them to attack the humans when they return. However, Vectorman was running an off-planet errand when things were upstarted, and now he alone must crush the insane robot. Graphics: Prime side-scrolling graphics. They're rendered slightly, but not to the point of the Donkey Kong Country series. Play Control: All one needs to do in this game is jump or shoot. You can jump again in mid-air with jets or shoot in almost any direction. Everything is prime. Sound: Blowing things up is a lot louder than all the other sounds, so one can't play this unless one doesn't mind the volume very low. All the sounds are very appropriate, though. The music is cool, but it's not exactly catchy. Challenge: You must shoot everything you see at least three times to kill it, all while dodging their blasts. Compared to Mario, Sonic, and etc., that is pretty hard. Plus, one can't save. The Bottom Line: Vectorman is different in a fun way. My copy was five dollars, and it is easily worth twice that. It isn't my cup of tea, but anyone who likes any kind of sidescroller platform game will like this game.
