![]() ![]() In Japan, Bowser was King Koopa and Toadstool was Peach. In Japanese legend, a "kappa" is an evil turtle. Perhaps this is how the name "koopa" came about. You'll notice that in this game and the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 that the bros. wear a blue shirt instead of the red/green shirts that they wore in Mario Bros. This was remade on a system add-on that would wire the NES to the world. It
was called Vs. Super Mario Bros., and I've heard claims that Super Mario/Luigi
rode a skateboard.
